Rolfing Structural Integration
Rolfing Structural Integration is deeply effective hands-on bodywork and movement education. All bodies have physical tendencies, abilities, and limitations. We are born with some of these patterns, and they are continually shaped by life experiences - habitual movements, physical responses to stress and emotions, modern life (think chairs and restrictive footwear), injuries and traumatic events all leave imprints on our bodies.
Rolfing can help you transform limiting physical patterns and bring conscious awareness into unknown or forgotten parts of your body. Through a series of intelligently ordered sessions, Rolfing will open, soften, and lengthen your body’s soft tissue, help you establish new movement patterns, and bring balance to your overall structure.
After a Rolfing series, it’s common for people to feel less pain and tension, to enjoy better posture with less effort, to discover better movement patterns, to develop clear body awareness, and to experience self-understanding and personal growth.
Many people come to Rolfing because of a body problem, but you needn’t have a problem to benefit from Rolfing - curiosity and a desire to explore your embodiment are great reasons to try Rolfing.
And lastly: Perhaps you've heard Rolfing is painful? It's not - or at least it needn't be. Rolfing has evolved since its intense early years. I've had the good fortune to be trained by Rolfers with decades of experience refining Rolfing, and can sincerely say that Rolfing is deeply effective, but not deeply painful.
