 SATURDAY, AUGUST 26th

Music Together®   9:30 - 10:15am ~ FREE DEMO CLASS

Our Music Together program offers your family an outstanding way to play and connect through music and movement, nurturing your child’s natural musical aptitude while developing physical, cognitive and social skills. We offer classes every morning of the week and many evenings so you can easily find your “favorite hour of the week”!

Bowspring Yoga   10:30 – 11:45am
The Bowspring is an ideal postural shape for all of your daily life’s activities. Consider enhancing your capacity in ordinary tasks like walking, sitting, housework, and even more specialized activities like yoga, jogging, or any athletics. The goal of the Bowspring alignment is to achieve tensile strength and rooted lightness in any movement, while using the least amount of physical energy. It offers a new view on body alignment that keeps you living healthy at any age; cultivating graceful lightness and whole body strength.

Nia Technique®     Noon - 1:00pm
Combining simple dance moves with martial arts and yoga, the Nia Technique provides a variety of movement dynamics to create an experience that involves your whole body, as well as your spirit. Nia is user-friendly for everyone at any fitness level - whether you are a high-energy athlete or if you just need to get moving. Reap the benefits: cardio conditioning, stress relief, joint mobility, increased strength and energy.

MELT Method & Soft Foam-Rolling Treatment    3:00 – 4:00pm
Erase pain and tension in your hands, feet, neck, and low back brought on by everyday stress, overuse, and age. This simple self-treatment can make your whole body feel better and provide relief from neck and low back pain, arthritis, bunions, plantar fasciitis, and carpal tunnel syndrome. Learn how the connective tissue in your hands and feet gets dehydrated, the common aches and pains it can cause, and how to rehydrate this essential system in our bodies for vibrant health and pain-free movement.

Effiji Breathwork   4:30 – 6pm   $15
Effiji Breath Work is a therapeutic process that is meant to be used as a tool to access parts of oneself that aren’t apparent or easy to get to on the surface. It is an avenue to access the inner playground and feel into the deepest, most soulful and dynamic fibers of our being. Come and experience a way to tangibly feel your energy, discover blocks and patterns that lie in the body, and all the inner workings that need attention. Breath helps us to release the negative symptoms, restore proper alignment, and find the proper flow for living the most full and purposeful life.

Ageless Grace® / Moving To Heal      Noon – 1pm
Ageless Grace is a fitness and wellness program consisting of 21 simple exercise Tools designed for all ages and abilities. Based on everyday movements that are natural and organic, these exercises focus on the healthy longevity of the body and mind. The 21 Tools are designed to be performed seated in a chair to activate the core and to level the playing field.

In Moving To Heal, you will enjoy a beautiful flow of music and easy-to-follow choreography in a supportive atmosphere of safety and trust. Personalize the movement to fit your body’s way, while focusing on pleasure, resulting in improved overall feelings of wellness, regardless of current physical/medical condition. Classes are designed to meet the needs of those diagnosed with long-term or chronic illness and mobility limitations as well as individuals with short-term personal healing goals for body, mind and emotions. Beginners are welcome.

Awareness Through Movement™    2:00 – 3:00pm
“ATM” classes of the Feldenkrais™ Method of Somatic Education will sharpen your “body sense” by slowing down and paying attention. ATM will reawaken the joy and ease of moving. Usually practiced on a mat, students of ATM are led by vocal cues through a series of slow focused movements. After an ATM class, the joints feel more free, the eyes are more open, breathing is deeper and connected, posture is taller, and chronic pain can melt away. Uncover your potential to feel good, and discover as Feldenkrais said, how you can “make the impossible possible, the difficult easy, and the easy elegant.”

Vital Roots ~ A Bowspring Practice     3:30 – 5:30pm    $30-35
Vital Roots, a set of 54 base postures, is a fun & challenging all-levels sequence, out of which the emerging Bowspring system was originally born. Each base pose gracefully unfolds to more complexity to match each individual students' level. Due to its sequential and dynamic nature, the Roots practice serves as an incredible gauge to observe ones' developing progress. Learn to flow through every dimensional plane of movement with the integrity, lightness and fluidity of the Bowspring template; feel the freedom to turn up the heat or to refine each foundational base position, as you step into this challenging flow.

Dance Dance Party Party   7 – 8pm
Dance Dance Party Party (DDPP) is a gals-only group that gets together twice monthly for a 1-hour dance party at Shine. There are only 3 rules: No boys, no booze, no judgment. Anyone can sign up to be a DJ after attending one DDPP! Join DJ Soop Dog, DJ Pooka Smith, DJ K$$$, DJ Sassy-frass, and many other very cool ladies for an hour of dancing YOUR WAY. No choreo, just the music, a welcoming community, and some fun disco lights.
