Much more than ‘just a workout,’ the Nia class experience offers a holistic fusion of dance, martial arts and healing arts to create an effective, fun and transformational workout for body, mind, emotions and spirit that will leave you smiling while you sweat.

Nia classes are designed for everybody and every body – at any stage of fitness and wellness - to unleash your individual potential to live a healthy and meaningful life!

Each Nia class experience combines music, mindfulness and dynamic movement to leave you physically energized, mentally clear, and emotionally balanced. Nia workouts combine 52 simple moves with dance arts, martial arts, and healing arts to energize and enliven well-being in 60 minutes - body, mind, emotion, and spirit. Nia is non-impact, practiced barefoot, and adaptable to individual needs and abilities.

Every class is all-levels with the instructor offering adjustments for Level 1 (the most ease) to Level 3 (for high functioning athletes). Because Nia is based on creating a loving relationship with the body and following The Body’s Way – the innate intelligence of the body — it is adaptable and safe for any fitness level, from stiff beginners to highly fit athletes. Each class has its own kind of magic that fosters personal creativity and expression while providing a total body workout.

Maria Whitley facilitates the Nia502 teaching community and is a 2nd Degree Black Belt Instructor in the Nia Technique and holds certifications in Nia's Specialty Trainings of  Moving To Heal, MOVE I.T. and Nia 5Stages. She teaches in person and on Zoom and is available for private sessions for you or your community.
